Wiener Lieder des Hochbarock - Zwischen Himmel und Erde

 

A vivid programme of songs and instrumental music from the rural and courtly Vienna in the 17th century, including a wide range of melodious music from long forgotten (J.J.Prinner) to already popular pieces (A.Vivaldi, M.-A. Charpentier) as well as early mentions of Austrian folk music elements (Partita Ex Vienna). 

Anna Jova – Baroque violin, direction
performs and teaches in diverse settings with baroque violin and the nyckelharpa. She is specialized in medieval, baroque and folk music and performed with her projects in concerts and festivals across Europe (Austria, Germany, Latvia, Italy, Lithuania, Sweden, UK, Estonia, Hungary, Russia) and the US. In 2021 she published her first album Heimspielerei with the Duo Wiener Miniorchester, in 2024 an EP From our living room with the Folk trio Triga and recently her new album In Between including own compositions.

Aleksandar Jova – Countertenor
is a countertenor, composer, choir conductor and passionate teacher. He is specialized in early music and contemporary music, performing in various concerts as a soloist and/or ensemble member. He already started an intense music education in his early childhood with the Wiltener Sängerknaben in Tyrol, performing and travelling the world with music. 15 years later he still enjoys performing internationally, recently, he performed regularly in Cambridge with the Gonville & Caius choir and the Cambridge Early Music consort. 

Desiree Wöhrer – Viola da Gamba, Recorder
a Viennese musician and music teacher, performs on stage in various ensembles playing the viola da gamba, lirone, and recorders. She teaches recorder and Viola da Gamba with great enthusiasm and dedication. Since autumn 2024, she has been a recorder teacher at the Kreuzenstein Regional Music School. Concerts have taken her to Austria, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, and Greece. Her Viola da Gamba consort Private Musicke (or A Chest of Viols), has released in March 2026 the album Free from All with English consort music. 

Georg Zopf – Arciliuto
a classically trained guitarist, has dedicated himself to early music since 2010 with lute-like instruments, amongst others, through studies with Luciano Contini in Vienna. As a continuo player, Georg regularly performs in smaller ensembles and with baroque orchestras, especially in large-scale sacred works, as well as leading lute masterclasses. He has taught classical guitar at the Deutschlandsberg Music School since 2008 and lutes at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in his hometown Graz since 2017.
